On Thursday, February 25, 2010, Wauwatosa East Sophomore student, Jason Babcock, age 16 presented Next Door Foundation’s Books for Kids, program coordinator Maggie Flint with 2,100 new and gently used books. The books were collected by Jason as a part of an Eagle Scout project for Boy Scout Troop 47 sponsored by First Congregational Church of Wauwatosa. Jason also collected $55.00 to support purchasing new books for the program. Jason is an honor student at Wauwatosa East and a 1st Degree Black Belt @ Black Belt Leadership Academy. Thanks to Jason, the more than two thousand books will be distributed to central city students enrolled in Next Door’s Early Head Start, Head Start and Charter School programs.
